Values Integration and key concepts
At the core of our approach is Values Integration and Key Concepts, a method designed to help children connect their learning to universal principles of behavior and thought. Values are not treated as subjective or relative but as objective and intrinsic qualities of the soul. Through association, knowledge, and practice, education becomes a process of uncovering these eternal qualities. This is achieved by weaving values into inquiry-based units of learning, ensuring they are consistently explored and applied across subjects and activities.
A shared language of values permeates the curriculum, guiding students to understand and reflect on acceptable and unacceptable behaviors. This not only nurtures character development but also fosters a positive school culture where learners feel safe to grow, inquire, and express themselves.
Key Concepts and their interaction
To bring values to life, the curriculum integrates them with five key elements of inquiry. These elements interact with 14 foundational key concepts that guide students in exploring the essence of values. These concepts address questions about existence, perception, and the embodiment of principles in everyday life. Each subject and topic provides opportunities for children to see how values connect to their personal experiences and how they can apply them practically.
